"When I grow up", you used to say,
"Gram, I'll take care of you."
And then you'd share your dreams with me,
of things you planned to do.

I'd hold you close, you'd snuggle in,
contented as could be.
Sweetie, do you realize,
you're a dream come true for me?

Now your growing up so fast,
Gosh, it's BIRTHDAY time again!
And a fine young lady has emerged
to fill the shoes her dreams began.

I know you'll find your heart's desires,
Your just that kind of girl...
the kind that's not afraid to dream,
And still is grandma's world!
